Looking for a fun, easy, and cost-effective way to show your team appreciation? How about hosting a family fun day? It can be as simple as a cookout at the boss’s home or at a park, a DIY carnival with games and contests, or you can host it at an amusement park or swimming hole. Time away from the office can help your team build relationships with each other, help them recharge, and become more productive. This can be time well spent to generate additional benefits for your practice.

A family fun day shows your team and their families you appreciate them and value their time and the work they do.

There are several more reasons to consider the events:

  • Rewarding, it’s a great way to say thank you!
  • Builds morale, the team will come back to work refreshed and chatty about how much fun they had.
  • Supports a healthy work-life balance, show your team you support their work and personal lives.

Deciding on what kind of fun day to have will depend on your team. Does everyone enjoy the outdoors? Are you all competitive, or do they just want to relax while their kids participate in fun activities? You’ll need to do a little research.

Here are a few additional points to consider that will help you plan the best family fun day for your team

  • How old are your team members’ children?
  • What do the spouses like?
  • What interests your employees?

You’ll need to take that all into consideration when planning. Also, don’t leave out the small details. Send a themed invite in the mail and carry the theme throughout the event. You can do fun food labels, custom water bottles, cupcake toppers, and more.
