Why Company Culture is Important

The dental consultants at Bryant Consultants believe a positive office culture is essential for any dental practice. It can help improve employee retention, job performance, satisfaction, and productivity. It can also attract top talent and leave a positive impression on patients.

Here are a few things you can do to create a positive office culture in your dental practice:

First, promote effective communication. Encourage your staff to freely voice their concerns, suggestions, and questions. This will help prevent employee dissatisfaction and reduce turnover. Also, do not tolerate bad behavior. Employees see what the Lazy Lucys are doing and being allowed to do! You certainly don’t want unacceptable behavior to run off the good employees.

Bryant Consultants dental consultants highly recommend arranging regular team-building activities. These events can help strengthen bonds between staff members and create a more collaborative work environment. Examples of team-building activities include quarterly lunches, holiday parties, or monthly game nights.

Finally, recognize achievements. When an employee does something well, be sure to acknowledge their efforts publicly. This will make them feel valued and boost morale. It will also set a positive example for others to follow. And publicly, we recommend at a team meeting posting achievements to social media sites like Facebook with kudos for the employee.  Also, sometimes a handwritten note is especially meaningful to team members, too.

When hiring new employees, consider their personality, skills, and experience. A cohesive group of employees who are aligned with the company’s goals and values will create a positive office culture. One thing you don’t want to worry about is that “that one employee” will be an “influence” over the new hire.

Here are some additional tips for creating a positive office culture in your dental practice:

  • Set clear expectations and goals for your employees.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Create a culture of respect and trust.
  • Offer opportunities for professional development.
  • Celebrate successes.

In addition to following these tips that can create a positive office culture that benefits your employees, patients, and business, the dental consultants at Bryant Consultants recommend being the person you want to be reflected.  Be kind, be happy, be on time, do good work and be a team player.
