Engaging your dental team in social media marketing can be an effective way to promote your practice and build a strong online presence.

Here are some steps to involve your team in social media marketing:

  1. Educate and Train:

  • Social Media Basics: Provide training on the basics of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Content Creation: Teach them about creating engaging content, including photos, videos, and posts that resonate with your audience.
  • Brand Guidelines: Ensure they understand your practice’s brand guidelines, including tone, style, and visual elements.
  1. Define Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Champions: Appoint team members who are interested in and enthusiastic about social media to lead efforts.
  • Have weekly check ins and updates during a morning huddle! It’s a great way to start the week of and identify the posts, videos and participants this week. It’s a great time to do company wins and recognize great engagement!
  • Content Calendar:Develop a content calendar with scheduled posts and assign specific tasks to team members (e.g., taking photos, writing captions).
  1. Encourage Content Creation:

  • Behind-the-Scenes: Encourage sharing behind-the-scenes moments in the practice, such as staff events, celebrations, and day-to-day activities.
  • Patient Stories: With patient consent, share success stories, testimonials, and before-and-after photos.
  • Educational Content: Create posts that educate your audience about dental health, procedures, and tips for maintaining oral hygiene.
  1. Collaborative Brainstorming:

  • Regular Meetings: Hold regular team meetings to brainstorm content ideas and discuss social media strategies.
  • Creative Input: Encourage all team members to contribute ideas and feedback to make the content diverse and engaging.
  1. Incentivize Participation:

  • Recognition: Recognize and reward team members who contribute valuable content or ideas. (pay to play, good ideas get good prizes)
  • Incentives: Offer small incentives, such as gift cards or extra time off, for active participation in social media videos or custom posts.
  1. Provide Tools and Resources:

  • Content Tools: Equip your team with tools for creating and editing content, such as smartphones, cameras, and editing software.
  • Provide Clear  “Brand On” Guidelines that help everyone in your company have clear direction about what you are interested in building with your brand on social media.
  • Social Media Platforms: Ensure they have access to the practice’s social media accounts and understand how to use scheduling tools like Business Suites or Hootsuite.
  1. Set Clear Goals and Metrics:

  • Objectives: Define clear objectives for your social media efforts, such as increasing followers, engagement, or website traffic.
  • Analytics: Use social media analytics tools to track performance and share insights with the team to adjust strategies as needed.
  1. Encourage Personal Engagement:

  • Employee Advocacy: Encourage team members to share practice content on their personal social media accounts to expand reach.
  • Authenticity: Promote authentic engagement by allowing team members to add personal touches to your company’s posts.
  1. Celebrate Successes:

  • Milestones: Celebrate social media milestones and successes with the team, such as reaching follower targets or high-engagement posts.
  • Team Achievements: Highlight team contributions and achievements in your practice’s social media success.
